The Danforth/ Danforth Village

This is a community of homes located along the Danforth Ave corridor which stretches from Chester Ave in the west over to Victoria Park Ave in the East. The southern boundary is along the C.N Railway line from Greenwood Ave over to Woodbine Ave back up to Danforth Ave and east over to Victoria Park Ave. The northern boundary is Milverton Blvd. Because the boundary is so large it is often referred of as The Danforth in the west and Danforth Village in the east.

There are lots of affordable semi-detached and detached homes as well as plenty of smaller post-war brick and frame bungalows and some row houses in these areas. As per any other older established areas of the city, you will also find some huge spectacular detached multi unit homes that are currently used as rental units in the area. This is another area of the city where renovators are recognizing the value of location and similar to the Riverdale area, you will notice lots of revamped and renovated homes on this neighbourhood of one way streets.

COMMUNITY ATTRACTIONS

Shopping along “The Danforth” is a very cultural experience that everyone should partake in. From August 5th to 7th along Danforth Ave between Broadview Ave and Pape Ave is the annual, The “Taste of the Danforth” festival which is really a great opportunity to experience the different cultures and nationalities that make up the core of this vibrant community.

Being right on the subway line has enhanced this community by being a very easy place to get to and offers many excellent dining and entertainment opportunities.
