East York

East York is a very large district bounded by the Don Valley to the west, Victoria Park Ave to the East, Fulton Ave/ Milverton Blvd to the south and just north of O'connor Drive/St Clair Ave E.  Its boundary also crosses over to the west side of the Don Valley to include the community of Leaside.

East York grew out of a few small villages bordering the Don Valley.  The development of East York really took off in the mid 1940's after the second World War.

Today, East York comprises of many communities such as Leaside, Parkview Hills, Old East York, Playter Estates, Broadview North, Pape Village, Danforth Village, Woodbine-Lumbsden, Todmorden Village, Topham Park, Woodbine Heights and Crescent Town.

East York is well known for its affordable post-war brick bungalows and semi-detached homes.  The area is also popular among builders/renovators who are capitalizing on the well priced bungalows and the demand for larger homes in a well located established neighbourhood.

Old East York is the pocket south of the Leaside Bridge between Broadview Ave and Victoria Park Ave. With many of the homes built on well treed ravine properties, this neighbourhood is very attractive.

O'Connor/Parkview Hills is a residential pocket of homes located along the edge of the Don Valley north of O’Connor Ave. There are many homes on ravine lots in this neighbourhood, which makes it a very popular area to live. It is only minutes to downtown and access to the Don Valley Parkway is very close.
